Are you struggling with tricky bedtimes, exhausting overnight wakes, or a baby who only settles with you? Perhaps you’re ready to move beyond contact napping or feeding to sleep, but worried about your little one getting the rest they need? While these sleep challenges are common, they can be resolved by teaching your baby the gentle skill of independent sleep.
If you’ve hesitated about sleep training because it sounds too harsh, I want you to know there’s a gentler way. My 13-stage approach lets you make small, gradual changes while staying responsive to your baby’s needs.
Limited time offer: Save £10 and get access to a sleep Q&A with Hannah on 16th April (worth £15) when you buy my baby or toddler sleep course.*
Learning to sleep independently isn’t about getting your baby to ‘sleep through the night’ – it’s about teaching them a fundamental skill so that they can get themselves back to sleep when they naturally wake up. When your little one masters self-settling, they’ll naturally fall asleep in their cot on their own, transition between sleep cycles without help, and develop their own healthy sleep patterns without relying on feeding or rocking to go to, or go back to, sleep.
My 13-stage approach teaches you to become your own baby’s sleep expert, confident in supporting them through this transition, any future regressions, and changes as they get older. Once your baby masters independent sleep, they’ll be able to sleep well anywhere – whether you’re travelling, visiting friends, enjoying family time, as well as when you are at home and they are sleeping in their cot.
After 20 years of working with families, I’ve seen too many parents let down by sleep programs that promise gentle solutions but then expect you to leave your baby to cry or jump straight to settling your baby in their cot. Gentle sleep training should never start with cot settling, or leaving baby to cry.
Using my 13 gentle steps to sleep, we’ll make small, manageable changes to work towards your baby being able to settle to sleep without your help. These small steps ensure that falling asleep becomes a positive experience rather than a stressful one for both you and your baby. You can pause whenever necessary – if baby is poorly, teething or you are going away – and resume when you and your baby are ready.
Moving at your and your baby’s pace makes this a gentle and supportive experience for the whole family.
Sleep deprivation is exhausting and overwhelming, but helping your baby develop a healthy relationship with sleep is nothing to feel guilty about. I understand you may have tried other approaches without success, or been told your baby has underlying issues preventing good sleep. Sadly, many ‘sleep specialists’ lack the depth of training needed to address underlying causes, leading to the program not working.
With 25 years of experience as a paediatric nurse, nutritional therapist, craniosacral therapist, nanny, maternity nurse and mother of three, I bring a holistic understanding to your baby’s sleep challenges. I’ve helped countless families overcome complex sleep issues, creating evidence-based solutions that work for your baby, long term.
It is all too easy for me to tell you that my methods are kind and gentle and that they’ll work for you, but you’ve probably heard it all before. Instead, I want you to hear it from parents, just like you, who have followed my approach.
Consultant Anaesthetist and sleep specialist, Ananya, contacted me when her daughters sleep had not improved after 12 months. Ananya followed my C.A.L.M Approach and got support from my Sleep Club.
Whichever way you choose to work with me, you’ll follow my unique 13-stage C.A.L.M approach to sleep. You can start at the stage that matches where you are now, making small, gradual changes as your baby learns to sleep independently. What makes this method special is its flexibility – you can move at your own pace, even take steps back when needed to support baby more if they are in pain or teething so that you can handle any regressions with confidence. Best of all, you’ll deepen your understanding of your baby’s sleep needs along the way, becoming an expert in supporting their long-term healthy sleep habits.
My approach is simple, choose based on where you want your little one to sleep and their age. If you want your little one to sleep in a cot (perfect for babies under 2.5), select the baby option. If you’re working towards your little one settling into their own bed (usually 2.5 years and above) select the toddler option. From there you, have three ways of following my approach, the course, one-to-one or club.
