Early weaning is often suggested as a solution for various feeding challenges, but the advice can be confusing and sometimes contradictory. Whether you’re considering early weaning for medical reasons or have been advised to start solids before 5 months, it’s crucial to understand both the benefits and potential risks. As a paediatric nurse and nutritional therapist, I’ll help you navigate this important decision with confidence and clarity.
If you find yourself saying ‘Yes’ to any of these questions, this course is for you.
This course is designed for parents considering or implementing early weaning (before 5 months) for their baby. Whether you’ve been advised to wean early for medical reasons, are dealing with reflux or weight gain concerns, or are seeking clarity amid conflicting professional advice, this course provides expert guidance. It’s particularly valuable for those waiting for specialist appointments who need immediate, evidence-based support.
In this comprehensive course, you’ll gain expert insights into early weaning from both medical and practical perspectives. As a paediatric nurse, nutritional therapist, and weaning specialist, I’ll help you understand when early weaning might be beneficial and when it’s better to wait. You’ll learn safe, effective approaches to early weaning, understand the latest research and guidelines, and receive practical strategies for common challenges like reflux and feeding issues.
A thorough, evidence-based approach to help you navigate early weaning decisions and implementation. Here’s what you’ll learn in each module:
In Module One, we explore the foundations of early weaning through a professional lens. You’ll learn about current guidelines, historical changes in advice, and medical indications for early weaning. We’ll examine various scenarios including reflux, CMPA, failure to thrive, and sleep regressions, while carefully weighing the potential risks and benefits for your baby’s specific situation.
Module Two delves deeper into the medical considerations for early weaning. We’ll explore the relationship between early weaning and allergies, examine how it might affect reflux symptoms, and discuss weight gain concerns. You’ll gain a clear understanding of when early weaning might be beneficial and when alternative approaches might be more appropriate.
The Bonus Module provides practical implementation strategies and troubleshooting advice. You’ll learn how to time weaning appropriately, manage common challenges like reflux and CMPA, and understand the relationship between solids and sleep. We’ll cover specific foods to introduce or avoid, optimal meal timing, and how to establish effective routines as you progress from one to three meals.
Just to say thank you Hannah for your weaning course. I was getting a bit lost with how much milk vs how much solids to be giving and doing your course has really helped me to get a grip of it.

I’ve spent the last 25 years helping families with their babies and children.
In my twenties I completed three university courses – in Paediatric Nursing, Nutritional Therapy and Cranial Sacral Therapy, whilst traveling the world nannying for pro golfers.
In my thirties I raised my own 3 children (Oliver born in 2008, Ella in 2012 and Henry in 2015), built a house, and founded and grew my new parenting business.
Through Sleep Well with Hannah, I’ve brought together all my experience and training to help hundreds of other families learn to juggle family life and, most importantly, sleep well.
I see myself as more than a sleep trainer – my deep knowledge in babies and children is what makes families feel confident in my hands, and is what makes my programmes, talks and courses work.
Through my CALM (Consistent, Achievable, Loving and Manageable®) approach to parenting I not only teach parents how to manage their baby’s feeding, weaning, nutrition, behaviour, and my most popular subject – sleep – I also teach confidence and how to enjoy juggling life with a baby. My greatest achievement is bringing many families out of dark, sleepless places to enjoying day to day life with their happy, sleeping baby.
I recommend this course to anyone who is struggling with their toddler’s behaviour as this can be a very simple issue to address with the right knowledge and tools, which I will teach you in this course.
